چکیده
This special issue of the Journal for Study Pseudepigrapha aims to introduce concept “books known only by title” as a fruitful new focus research in larger field first-millennium Jewish and Christian literatures. Books title are named literary objects through medium other writings, surviving neither extant documents nor excerpts or quotations any substantial length. Still, these books far more than “lost,” “false,” “forged”: they were vital components first millennium imagination. introductory essay provides conceptual methodological framework study this hitherto unexplored phenomenon offers an initial overview key functions book lists texts.
